As reported on before, the effort to reconfigure large blocks of land in Carova originally earmarked for future business is now one step closer to becoming "The Estates of Carova Beach", an open space subdivision of lots for residential development and several acres dedicated to Currituck County for public use. By unanimous consent, the Board of Commissioners approved preliminary plat approval of the reconfiguration request with just one stipulation: tear down the dilapidated oceanfront home on the oceanfront by the Carova Beach Firestation. I finally created this blog after years of receiving emails and telephone calls from property owners and potential property owners who just wanted to know what was going on in the Carova Beach area. I found myself answering the same questions over and over. Online information about the area can be very difficult to obtain, even more difficult is to verify whether or not it is accurate. People, who either wanted to invest in the area or just have a place to enjoy at the beach, found out (often the hard way) that the Carova Beach area was not like other areas. I spend a considerable amount of time researching issues that directly or indirectly effect this 4WD off-road area of the Outer Banks so that I can provide detailed, objective responses to those who share a similar passion and vested interest for the area.
